Our South Orange family is looking for a driving babysitter for our two sons, 10 and 7 years old. We need someone for 2 or 3 days this fall, picking them up from school at 2:40 and staying with them until 6:00 or 6:30. We have flexibility on hours and days some weeks but we will guarantee payment for those hours per week even if we don't need help on certain days. The babysitter may need to take them to soccer practice in Maplewood and supervise them/ take to park/take to zoo/hang out at home with our sweet, friendly dog, Checkers.
Our boys are kind, fun, well-behaved and self-sufficient. They like to sing, dance, draw, read, play board games, play some sports, and just hang out. I am home most days in my office working, and the boys are used to having a babysitter to do things with while I am busy.
We are an easy going family with more ideas than time. Our kids are happy and silly and love each other very much.... but of course, like all siblings they bicker too! My husband and I both work in the city in creative fields. We have 3 furry cats whom are very friendly. We do not smoke. We love hiking, biking and art. Our kids love crafts, biking, skateboarding and playing with their friends. Both children are vegetarian.
I have 4 boys ages 12 and under. They love to do ninja courses, play baseball and basketball, run, create forts, play boardgames, do puzzles and make me laugh. My oldest son has ADHD and needs help with his impulsivity (but not his kindness as he has the biggest heart ever.)
We live in Maplewood and have a four year old boy (high functioning ASD) and a teenage boy. I am an improviser and improv instructor (www.lulufrench.com ) and run a local improv school for kids called Rocket Improv (www.rocketimprovcomedy.com ). My husband works for Marvel Entertainment where he helps develop their podcasts. We are looking for someone reliable with a strong work ethic who is gung-ho to help out. Someone who has experience with autistic kids and understands the level of patience they need is preferred.
We are a friendly and communicative family, new to town, and hoping to connect with a sitter who can help the kids feel safe and happy in their transition to new schools. We have had great relationships with our sitters in Brooklyn had one for two school years and two others for a year each - who we are still in touch with. The kids are into sports and games and music and books and are enthusiastic about lots of activities most especially playing with their new friends on the block. They love play dates and love playing with/connecting with sitters. They get along well together and and with other kids. We have a cat, and at this point a pretty empty house that we?ll be furnishing / fixing up over the next year.
We have a little girl (who is 3.5) and a little boy (who is almost 6). We are an active family who has a lot going on (who doesn't these days) and we would love to find someone to help us out. Sometimes the "job" will require care for both the children, sometimes, just care for one! Looking for sporadic help -- some night, some days, some weekends, some weekday. Looking forward to connecting.
