I'm a Chemistry Professor at Rutgers-Newark and my husband is a Scientist at a biotech startup. We have a very cerebral (ants are scary but flags are super cool!) almost 2 year old and a very chill, but sleep-resistant, newborn. We moved to NJ in 2017 and all of our family live out of state (~4h by plane or car, depending). There are also 2 cats but they have their own room to stay in if needed.
My wife Vanessa and I are both originally from the West Coast but have been in the city for quite a while at this point. I am lawyer at a renewable energy developer and Vanessa is a project manager at a tech company. For years we were living in Carroll Gardens but recently moved to Greenwood Heights / South Slope, which, if you haven't been, is really nice: you can see the trees of Greenwood Cemetery at the end of our block and Prospect Park is only half a mile away. Lots of kids running around in front of our building since the weather warmed up.
We recently welcomed our little covid baby to the family, Ezra, and he (and his cheeks) has been the best distraction during these trying times. He's obviously the best and most beautiful little boy the world has ever seen. We expect you to feel the same (or at least lie to us about it).
We are both currently working from home and are looking for some assistance during the afternoons (~11:30am-4pm) so that we can focus on our jobs in between Ezra's naps. Our apartment is big enough that you won't feel like you're always in someone's space.
We are very COVID-conscious and would expect you to be the same. We are both getting our first shots over the next week. Hopefully you will be signing up to get your as soon as possible as well.
I am a single parent who has shared custody of two children. I teach at a special education high school in Livingston. We are moving into a new apartment July 1st. My children will be trying to adjust to a shared custody arrangement and a new place. My daughter has mild autism. They get along pretty well, and they?re close. We have a lot of fun together.
Our family is fun, loving and kind. We strive to keep our son intellectually challenged and provide physical exercise. We are in a co-parenting schedule, therefore, I will only need a part-time babysitter. During the pandemic it has been challenging providing social connections with his classmates, but we have used zoom for virtual playdates, karate classes and other forms of activities. Once school begins I would like help with someone to ensure we keep to a consistent routine, so that by the time the babysitter leaves, our son is ready to begin his nighttime routine. We are not sure what the school schedule will be at this time and We also have a cat, that we love very much.
Our South Orange family is looking for a driving babysitter for our two sons, 12 and 9 years old. We need someone 5 days, picking them up from camp at 1pm and staying with them until 4pm or 5:00pm. We have flexibility on hours and days some weeks but we will guarantee payment for those hours per week even if we don't need help on certain days. The babysitter may need to take them to after school activities locally and supervise them/ take to park/take to zoo/hang out at home with our sweet, friendly dog, Checkers.
Our boys are kind, fun, well-behaved and self-sufficient. They like to sing, dance, draw, read, play board games, play some sports, and just hang out. I am home most days in my office working, and the boys are used to having a babysitter to do things with while I am busy.
There's four of us:
Sara - mother
Andres - father
Zoe - 3.5yrs old
Eloise - 8mo.
We're a low key family with a busy work schedule and looking for help. Zoe is 3,5 and is talkative, spirited and happy. She needs mental and artistic stimulation, physical exercise and boundaries (like all kids). Eloise is 8mo old and needs her routine infant needs taken care of plus some holding and affection.
